A Kaleidoscope In The Sand
There is an array of colorful sea glass waiting to be found on a beach near you. In some areas, it is like a kaleidoscope in the sand. Some colors are easily found while others can be quite elusive. Beach glass colors that are rare in one area can be common in another.
You can find sea glass in every color of the rainbow… from the common white, brown and emerald green to rare colors of red, orange, yellow and pink to so much more. Sea glass can be found in the palest pastels and the deepest tones of cobalt or ruby red. Every hue is possible.
Beach glass origins are as varied as their colors. Every beach holds a different assortment. What is rare in one area can be common in another. You almost never find a piece of cobalt or red on the Atlantic coast among the whites, browns and greens. But in places like Puerto Rico, cobalt and ruby are more plentiful. Bermuda beaches abound in seaglass, but the emerald green common on the Atlantic coast is much harder to find there. Forest green is very common in Bermuda but seldom found on our Atlantic coast beaches.
Searching is most of the fun. What a thrill it is to find an elusive color on your favorite beach. The colors you find will vary with the beaches you search and are only limited by the type of glass that was disposed of in that region so many years ago.
