“This Halloween, you know there is going to be a huge demand for pairs of sunglasses, sequined gloves, leather jackets and flat black hats. Yes, the world will be going crazy with tributes to the man himself, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, or as he was known to his fans, the gloved one. But what if you want to go beyond that and make your entire home a theme to a Michael Jackson Halloween? Never fear, I’m here to help with that too.
Okay, first, you need to figure out how you’re going to set up your home for your Michael Jackson themed party. This is actually harder and more difficult than you might imagine. It could also be really easy. How you ask? Very simple, really. The King of Pop had so many different eras that only Madonna could match him for the different styles he went through. So, you need to choose, which is the hard part.
One of the best choices I think is a Thriller theme since that would work really well for Halloween. To do the Thriller theme, you can try to set up your home to look like a cemetery. You also may want to set up a few dummy mummies (no pun intended) around the house. A bit of gauze bandage hanging around would complete the look.
Or if you prefer to do something more akin to the “We Are the World” style, believe it or not, you can drop by the local gay shop and get something very appropriate. All you need is a gay flag. Just make sure to decorate it with a cut out of the classic Michael Jackson in the hat, with a silhouette so that he is reaching toward the sky in front of the rainbow.
Either way though, what you need to complete the party is some Michael Jackson themed food and music. The music I’ll leave to your own taste; you can choose whatever era of the Gloved One’s musical era to show off. But what about food? Well a little research revealed that the King of Pop’s favorite type of candy was M&Ms. And these days you can buy M&Ms in all kinds of special types and styles. You can easily get M&Ms in Halloween colors or just use the standard packages since the colors are the same as the rainbow Michael made famous.
